The hotel association expected 88.4 % of the city's hotel beds to stay open between October and March. Read as a locksmith, that means two things. On the mechanical side, yes: the lock body in the door, the handles, the mechanical override cylinder and the door itself. The software, the card encoder and the system programming belong to the manufacturer or its installer, and we work alongside them rather than instead of them. ### A guest is locked out at two in the morning and night staff cannot open the door. The line is answered at any hour, so ring it. At night the job is treated like any other lockout: the room door is opened, and the repair is planned with your maintenance team in daylight. ### Who needs to be present? Somebody from the hotel with authority to request the work: the duty manager, reception or the head of maintenance. For a guest room, the guest can be present, but the request comes from the hotel. ### Can planned work be done without closing rooms? Mostly, yes. Work on one door takes that room out of use for a short time, and larger jobs can be booked for a day with low occupancy or in the quieter weeks of January. ### Do you invoice the hotel? Yes.
