Benidorm
Benidorm, part by part
The city is 38.5 square kilometres between the sea and the hills, usually described as two bays, an old town between them, La Cala at one end and the Rincón de Loix at the other, with the neighbourhoods and urbanisations climbing behind.

Levante
The east bay: a wide beach, a wall of towers behind the promenade, hotels and apartments above bars.
The promenade sits inside the low emission zone, watched by access cameras, so the van may stop a street back. Give the name of the building and the street its door opens onto, not only the promenade.

Rincón de Loix
The eastern end of Levante: apartment blocks, British bars and late-night venues, with Aqualandia and Mundomar close by.
Plenty of doors that look the same at two in the morning. The building name, the tower or block letter, and the floor are what we need.

Poniente
The west bay, quieter and more residential, where much of the recent residential growth has gone.
If your building uses a card or fob for the street door and the lift, say whether you can get into the building or only as far as the street. It changes what we bring.

La Cala
The western end of Poniente, where Benidorm meets La Cala de Finestrat.
The municipal boundary runs through this stretch. Both sides are covered; just say which side your building is on, because the street names change.

The old town
Narrow streets on the Canfali headland, around the church of Sant Jaume i Santa Anna and the Balcó del Mediterrani.
Vehicle access here is restricted and needs a municipal authorisation, so the last part is on foot. Tell us the nearest corner or square and we will walk in with the tools.

El Calvari and the centre
Older blocks with a shared street door and a flat door on each landing, shops on the ground floor.
El Calvari is also a restricted-access area. Two locks usually stand between you and home here: say whether the street door opens.

Colonia Madrid, Foietes and Els Tolls
Residential neighbourhoods inland from Poniente. Colonia Madrid began as two-storey chalets with gardens and is now mostly apartment blocks.
People live here all year. Gates, garage doors and a flat door rarely share a lock, so say which one is refusing.

Coblanca, Armanello and Salt de l'Aigua
Urbanisations and older rural districts on the higher ground behind the town.
Houses with their own gate, and street numbering that does not always follow the road. A WhatsApp location pin saves ten minutes of searching.

The same street name can turn up in two towns, and La Cala is split between Benidorm and Finestrat. Always say which municipality you are in, not only the street.

How to give an address in a vertical city
- The building's name, if it has one, as it appears over the entrance.
- The street the entrance is on, since some buildings face one street and open onto another.
- Block, staircase, floor and door, or the room number in a hotel.
- A WhatsApp location pin, dropped where you are standing.
- A meeting point if you are in the old town, El Calvari or on a promenade, where vehicles are restricted.
